A former hosiery factory in Dakeyne Street, Sneinton, Nottingham, underwent a £360,000 transformation to create high-quality workshops, offices and studio units, and meeting rooms and networking spaces, aimed at creative and digital industries businesses.

The project involved the fitting out of a former factory unit in Dakeyne Street to provide business units at and the renovation of 58 Carlton Road, adjacent to the Dakeyne St space, to provide accommodation for creative businesses.

Half of the £360,000 project costs were met by D2N2’s LGF allocation and half by Nottingham City Council. It is seen as an expansion of the city’s ‘Creative Quarter', in the east of the city centre.

Work began in November 2016 and was completed in March 2017.

The Dakeyne Street/Carlton Road project provides more than 300 square metres of business space over the two buildings.
