This section of the D2N2 website is for partners and organisations with an interest in applying for European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF) which support businesses, communities and individuals across Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.
The aim of the ESIF 2014-2020 web pages is to encourage potential partners and providers to understand the nature, range and scope of ESIF opportunities; allowing them to be better informed, to contribute to their delivery as appropriate.
Examples of ESIF projects recently (2016/17) announced and/or running include:
Digital Business Growth Programme - Through its European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) allocation, part of the LEP's wider ESIF monies, D2N2 is providing half of the £7.2m costs of this programme, to help around 850 SMEs across its area (over three years) to make better use of digital connectivity to expand their businesses. Partners also funding or backing the project include Nottinghamshire County, Nottingham City, Derbyshire County, Derby City and Rushcliffe Borough councils; Nottingham’s Creative Quarter Company and the East Midlands Chamber. Some of the partners will also deliver the programme for businesses. For more information click HERE.
‘Supporting Nottingham’s Young People into the Labour Market’ project - Helping those aged 15 to 29 – who are not in employment, education or training (NEETs) – to re-engage with education and training, gain basic skills to help them become more employable and get jobs, and also provide then with work experience and training opportunities. A total of £774,000 has been provided towards this project through D2N2's European Social Fund (ESF) allocation. For more information click HERE.
Rural businesses and area support - Micro businesses, companies producing food products and cycle networks in rural areas covered by D2N2 could access £3million in investment. Rural businesses wanting support to improve demand for their agricultural and horticultural products, or to create more jobs, or companies or organisations intent on improving countryside cycle networks for tourism or recreational use, can apply for funding now (as of January 26, 2017). Money for the three programmes is being made available via the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) portion of D2N2’s current EU funding. Potential applicants were given more information at a 'Rural Means Business Conference’ (pictured above), held at Nottingham Trent University’s Brackenhurst Campus, in February 2017.
