D2N2 is proud to have invested £6.72million of Local Growth Funding into the delivering cycle infrastructure improvements across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.

As part of the project, new cycle lanes were erected in Derby, Chesterfield, Ilkeston, Nottingham, Mansfield, West Bridgford, Newark, Arnold, and Carlton. 

The project involves over 65km of new cycle lanes being introduced across the region, designed to encourage more cycling use and enabling the region to hit the Department for Transport's target to double the use of bicycles as a means of transport by 2025.

The scheme also provides significantly improved access to a number of employment locations as well as skills and training opportunities across the D2N2 area.
